Wow, stunning piece mic-d!. Looks beautifully made, and elegant design too.
Is the there a shallow top section to the drawer, like a tray, or does that extend all the way down and I'm not reading the photo properly?

    Cheers,
    Andy Mac

    Cheers,
    thanks fellas.

Andy, the drawer is full depth, it does look a bit like a shallow shelf in the photo. Perhaps the client will have need of a partial platform once they sort out what goes in it.

I hope I get someone else interested in one with the investment in the mould for the lamination.

    Cheers

Ahh yes the finish I forgot to mention is 3 coats of FW Floor Seal and 1 coat of FW Fine Buffing Oil.

Another detail not really visible in the pics is the drawer front is set back 5-6mm from the drawer surround, but the BW lipping finishes level with the drawer surround.

    Cheers

Very nice, Mic, hope you get more orderd to repay your investment. The choice of timbers and care taken with the finish really shows.

Thanks again everyone for the positive feedback.

Les, the ends are made of laminated 3mm mdf (6 layers), glued with epoxy and pressed into a mould until cured, then veneered with silver ash in a vacuum bag. I forgot to take a piccie of the glue up, but I will take a piccie of my mould so you get the idea.

    Cheers

here's the pics of the polyurethane foam mould. The glued-up laminations are clamped between the two sections.
