I strongly dissagree buddy cause I know what I have. If you are saying you are interested maybe state how much and what sizes you are after and also what lovely timber you have to swap, and I'm talking woods of similar interest and rarity and I'll happily take as many pics as you like. BTW this is all dressed and straight.:U

You obvious don't know what you have because I have never heard of WA She Oak. If you mean WA sheoak then at least spell it right. BTW rarity is a relative thing - it's not rare in this part of the country.

OK here is a photo of the Sheoak (thanks BobL for the correction on spelling, we cant have woods mis-spelt now can we) Anyway I did manage to take a photo today for anyone who is serious and I can take more. I have quite a bit and I am not looking to let go if it all but wanted to share it with fellow members and welcome some new and hopefully interesting samples into my shop. Theres boards of all different sizes from approx 12mm 15mm and 19mm in various widths but lots in around the 100 to 150 width that would make great boxes, theres not alot of big stuff but a few bits and pieces, so it all really depends on what you want it for. Let me know. There is back sawn as shown and quarter sawn, lengths vary up to 2 m

I am looking for stock 40x100x650-700 0r 40x150x650 Of mainly anything with an acoustic quality or somthing exotic with amazing grain. I can bring to Sydney around the weekend of the 31st or Brisbane in the next couple of months or come to me near Kyogle.

No good offer is worthless without photos, just means you need to trust and use positive communication skills to get what you want, maybe you need to work on that

Part of positive communications is to listen to what is said and maybe take some advise from the more experienced and respected forum members. As they say a picture is worth a thousand words.
I'll pass
Thank you

"Could you please post a pic" is much more positive communication than "this post is worthless without pics" All of your communication is worthless to me without integrity full stop. So called respected member or not. Sounds like you work your egos more than wood, is there really nothing better to do.

I'm not desperate to get rid of this timber but as I say I wanted to share some of this lovely timber and share some of what you may have excess of, not play this silly game of school yard politics.

Please only reply to this post if you are serious.

Many thanks

You've just misread DJ's intent. That smiley is a standard way of asking for pics here. If you stick around long enough you'll realise that.

Hi Wendy,

I will put together a nice pack for you. I'll passing through Brisbane just before 1st weekend in June which is basically a couple of weeks away. You'll love this stuff, as far as my experience goes this is the easiest sheoak I've ever worked and it takes a great shine when you hand burnish with natural oil. PM me your phone no and I'll get back to you ASAP for address details. Slim Possibility I may come to Brisbane before on another trip but not yet certain.

Just to give you an idea of the quality of this wood, heres a flute I made out of it recently. This is a acoustic woodwind instrument that will last many life times. It's a Northern Native American Style Flute.
