No Google
I can't take a trick this week.
I can't fire up Google anymore. If I hit the Google icon, nothing happens.
Where do I begin to look for the problem?

Right click on the icon, then click on 'properties' - this will tell you if some 'helpful' program update has deleted the actual address of Google from your icons (and probably browser 'favorites' as well). You can fix this by re-typing the direct address as provided by Ian - google.com or even google.com.au.
There are a number of apps that will try to force you to use their own branded search portals such as 'Bing' by Microsoft, but most of them hide it in a menu with a near invisible 'opt out' check box (DAMHIK) or threaten that you'll get cooties if you don't use their search engine.
If the direct approach doesn't work, some kind soul at you ISP may have blocked Google so you may need to contact Technical Support to complain - I hope you are not with Telstra.
