Unknown hardwood Timber
Hi All,
Received this hardwood a while back but have been reluctant to use it as I don't know what it is and if it's been treated in any way.
Any help I identifying it, more specifically if it's treated chemically in any way which would make it unsuitable for furniture making.
Characteristics:
- Heavy, dense.
- Pale in colour when rough sawn
- The timber was left outside under some plastic on the side of the house
- Location Sydney
- Has a pearlescent shimmer when dressed and coated in clear oil
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, that would help.
The mobile app didn't allow for attachements had to logon to laptop.
I've rough sawn the timber to show the inside.

Could be any one of many Eucalypt timbers. If it is commercially sourced it could be Mountain Ash. Unlikely to be treated in my experience - that is usually restricted to pine these days.
