Marriage problems
Sally and I often have a look in the vintage junk shops that seem to be popping up all over the place.
But ,we are having a regular issue pop up .
It is becoming quite a martial problem.
The problem is ,we both like a said item ,but for completely different reasons ,I see its history ,it's true value.
It's true and only purpose.
Beyond its fake paten.
Sally ,well she thinks it would look nice or in her words "cool"
Hanging up over my work bench just as is.
Or why do I keep looking at those bits of junk the ones that haven't been attacked mutilated.
I know to a lot us those are extremely hurt full words.
And I'm sorry
I've left these shops many a time and had very quiet trips home together.
Should I be calling a divorce lawyer.
Is there a support group for me somewhere.

Bunnings sell various types of paint stripper.
If you are ever at an auction bidding on a saw, and the other bidder is wearing paint splattered jeans and t-shirt, double your bid, I'll cover it.

Hi,
It would be worse if she brought one home as a surprise and expected you to be thrilled.

If she insists on purchasing it for you, hang it up above your bench, hug your wife and thank her from your heart.
Wives are very hard to replace.

You can always have both. The "ornaments" that your darling likes, and the great tools that you like. After all, there are lots of saws that aren't worth restoring...
And good wives are much rarer than good saws. In my experience anyway...Bob C.
Never give up.

I could see her interest in the decorated saws as being a kind of on-ramp to tool collecting. Better watch yourself.
Innovations are those useful things that, by dint of chance, manage to survive the stupidity and destructive tendencies inherent in human nature.
