New Tablesaw Mitre Gauge Recommendations
Would like to hear from anyone who can recommend an after market Mitre Gauge for my cabinet saw.
Like most table saws the one that came with my 2hp Carbatec cabinet saw is basically craphouse.

I've got an incra, very useful when you start factoring all the add-ons like flip stops and extensions. Sure there are others that are cheaper, but as far as I'm concerned the incra leaves little to be desired.

I agree, you can't go wrong with an Incra. Even the cheaper ones are miles ahead of the ones that come with the saw.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

Another vote for Incra - I've used one of these with various homemade sacrificial fences for the past 20 years, still going strong thanks to having adjustment to maintain a good running fit in the mitre slot.

Just noticed they have improved the design - this current one looks like it has indents to set the angle in 1 degree increments, my much older version only has indents in the angle scale every 5 degrees.

I had an Incra V120 with my old saw and now use the Incra 1000 that came with my 'new' saw. Both are excellent gauges. If you don't want to stretch to the Incra prices something like this - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005...d=phuGyhDAiJEL - would probably serve very well. I'd be going with the brass handle version.

Mark Spagnola from The Wood Whisperer did a good review of mitre gauges https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBQtzhCiMhY&t=2372s) - Incra was recommended.

The latest edition of FineWoodworking has done a comparison. Incra was one of the best value ones.
Kind Regards,

I can get the Incra 1000HD version for only $20 more than the SE. No brainer?.

depends if you need it or not.
Majority of the time mine is set to one of a handful of angles i commonly use, for me having the extra detents will increase the likelihood of selecting the wrong detent/setup time. Both have the ability to lock in an angle other than one of the available detents. So it comes down to how often you plan on using angles that the SE doesn't cater for.

Not really, at full extension, the far edge gets little bit iffy, at which point I'd opt to use a sled over a mitre guage
