Entirely water powered platform lifts
In 2011 there was a request by rmm1 for plans and other help regarding a platform lift powered entirely by mains water pressure. I know these lifts exist, but have been unable to find construction plans. Is anybody able to supply a plan, or direct me to such plans? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

As a child I can remember being in a passenger lift at a Sydney hospital, possibly St Vincents, and Dad telling me it was powered by water. From a child's memory and decades later there was a stationery steel rope in one corner of the lift and a leather hand guard on it that was used to move the lift by pulling upwards or down on the rope as required.

The Strand Arcade in Sydney had hydraulic lifts, and they were in operation long after the Sydney Hydraulic Power Company ceased operations (some of the ponds around Mill Pond Drive at Mascot were part of their works). You might check with the Strand's management to see if they are still hydraulic lifts & if so, who does their maintenance.
